The North Eastern Indian Province of Assam is one of the world's most productive tea growing regions. Teas are grown in Assam along and near the Brahmaputra river and valley. Assam teas are know for their brisk, strong, and full bodied flavour. The best teas from this region produce a malty sweet flavour, sometimes with notes of honey. Assam teas are often blended and sold by the name "breakfast" teas. English Breakfast tea, Irish Breakfast tea, and Scottish Breakfast Tea are common trade names. Assam teas are most typically enjoyed with milk.
